Jack Fruit trees are common to all of southern Asia as well as South America. It produces a large spiny fruit that is fibrous and starchy and tastes a bit like an unripe banana. Some varieties can grow fruit as large as 75 pounds! In many cultures the fruit is chooped up and cooked before it is consumed.
