Sapodilla trees can grow to a height of 90 feet! The tree produces a smooth-skinned fruit that looks a bit like a round potato. The fruit is pale yellow to brown and some say it is caramel in flavor and does not ripen until picked. Sapodillas cannot survive freezing temperatures and often take as long as 5 to 8 years to bear fruit.
