The Wax Jambu is also known as the Wax Apple or the Love Apple. This tree can grow to a height of 35 feet and can produce as much as 700 pounds of fruit from a mature tree. The fruit is has a red to purple waxy skin and tastes a bit like a pear. The redder the fruit, the riper it is. In Asia it is often eaten in salads or sauteed into some dishes.
